+5 photosWestminster Abbey provides several excellent opportunities for education. We welcome schools, universities, community groups,
and youth groups from the UK and abroad, whether you can visit us in person or virtually. We also provide enjoyable holiday activities for families.
Many of the most important historical events in British history over the past millennium have taken place in this place, which is also
a place of worship, celebration, and ceremonial. The Abbey is the ultimate resting place for the great kings, queens, poets, singers,
scientists, and politicians of our past and has hosted every coronation since 1066. Please feel free to visit and have a look.
Ten monuments honoring contemporary martyrs—Christians who gave their lives in defense of their beliefs—stand above the Abbey’s Great West Door.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and St. Oscar Romero are two among them.
